Who we are

Canadian Metal Cards (“we”, “us”), based in Calgary, Alberta, sells custom laser-engraved metal business cards through canadianmetalcards.com. You can reach us at hello@canadianmetalcards.com.

Your order

Your order is accepted when your payment is confirmed; we then send you a confirmation email. We may decline or cancel an order, with a full refund, if its content is unlawful, infringes someone else’s rights, or if we cannot produce it.

Your design and content

You are responsible for the content of your design and confirm that you have the right to use every name, logo and trademark in it. You allow us to reproduce your design only to make, check and ship your order. We do not use your design for any other purpose without your permission.

Proofs

Before ordering you approve a proof showing what will be engraved and on which finish. We engrave the approved proof as it is, so please check spelling, contact details and layout carefully. Screens show colours differently; the proof is a faithful representation, not an exact colour match. Engraving on the silver finish has low contrast.

Prices and payment

Prices are in Canadian dollars. The price per card depends on the total number of cards in the order, and double-sided cards cost 1.5 × the price of their tier. The total shown before you pay, including shipping and taxes, is the amount charged. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number.

Taxes and duties

Orders shipped in Canada include GST or HST based on the destination, plus provincial sales tax where we are registered to collect it. Orders shipped to the United States include no Canadian tax; any US duties, taxes or brokerage fees are set by US authorities and the carrier and are paid by the recipient.

Production and delivery

We start production after your payment is confirmed. Delivery dates shown at checkout are Canada Post’s estimates and are not guaranteed unless the service is described as guaranteed. Details are in our shipping and returns policy.

Cancellations

Your cards are custom goods made to your design. You can cancel an order for a full refund until production begins, from your order page or by contacting us. Once production has begun, the order can no longer be cancelled.

Defects and delivery problems

If your cards are defective, damaged in transit, different from your approved proof, or lost by the carrier, we reprint them at no charge as described in our shipping and returns policy. Errors that were present in the approved proof are not defects.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for an order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer protection laws that apply to you, including Québec’s Consumer Protection Act.

Your account

Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You can delete your account at any time from your account page; we keep order records for as long as tax law requires.

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms; the version in force when you place an order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you live elsewhere in Canada, the consumer protection law of your province or territory still protects you.
